About Luda Balian

I've been creative for as long as I can remember. One of my most vivid childhood memories is the joy I felt when my mother gave me a simple sketchpad and pencils—it was like opening the door to another world.

Although I dreamed of becoming a fine artist, life took me in a different direction. After moving to the U.S., I faced discouragement when I expressed interest in painting, so I chose a more "practical" path and earned a BA in Graphic Design. It was still creative, but deep down, I knew I wasn't done with art.

While studying at San Francisco State University, I took two semesters of art classes that reawakened something in me. We explored everything from watercolor to scratch art, and I loved every moment. My professor was stunned to learn it was my first formal art experience. At the end of the semester, I received first place in a university-wide art award—a moment that stayed with me.

I always believed that one day I would return to painting. That moment came unexpectedly when my daughter introduced me to her client's resin art. It inspired me to dive back into the art world—not with resin, but with paint. From that point on, I couldn't stop. I began painting for hours every day, as if I were catching up on all the time I had lost.

Today, painting is more than a passion—it's my meditation, my voice, and my joy. I recently had the honor of showing my work at the Beverly Hills Art Show, and I'm excited for what lies ahead as I continue this journey.
